Rocky Mountain Front Recreation Abounds at Our Dude Ranch
The Rocky Mountain Front area is a premier outdoor recreation destination in Montana. Our dude ranch near Choteau in the Teton Canyon is ideally located to explore the best the area has to offer.
Horseback Riding
If you have a passion for land and horses, you have come to the right place. We offer unlimited riding here in this road-less country. Each day you’ll ride to a new vista as you explore the many trails, meadows, canyons, coulees and mountains that we simply refer to as “home”, while others call it the Rocky Mountain Front.
Our gentle, mountain trained horses are suited for all levels of riding experience. The beginner can learn to handle a horse under the watchful eyes of our wranglers and be off for a trail ride the first day. Because your horse quickly becomes your best friend, we keep you together for your entire stay. Children under the age of 6 are not allowed on trail rides, however we are happy to offer a ride around the corrals for the little ones that would like to sit in the saddle.

Fly Fishing in Montana’s Teton River
The North Fork of the Teton River flows through the Teton Canyon and is but a stone’s throw and a short walk from the Ranch. Try your hand at catching native cutthroat in these clear, pristine waters. There are many excellent fishing holes waiting for you to wet your line along the length of the river.
A fishing license is required and may be purchased in Choteau or online once you are at the
Ranch. If a guide is needed, let us know ahead of time and we would gladly take care of you.

The Ranch is surrounded by trails accessing unique opportunities to spot wildlife that inhabit this area such as mule deer, mountain goat, elk, moose, and an occasional bear.

Teton Canyon Evening Wildlife Viewing
During your stay we will take a trip in the ranch van south along the Rocky Mountain Front. We pass through the Nature’s Conservancy Preserve, which is home to Grizzly, Moose and Deer. We often catch a glimpse of them enjoying their unbothered routine. We also visit a neighboring Bison Herd. They can often be found right along the road and don’t seem to mind having their picture taken. On these evening adventures, we will always be treated to a beautiful sunset, as seen only in Big Sky Country.

Swimming & Tubing the Teton River from the Ranch
Tubes are provided for those wishing to cool off in the river. We will drop you off a few miles upriver from the Ranch and you can meander down the scenic canyon. When is the last time you experienced crystal clear water, straight from mountain springs carrying down country or found a swimming hole and just jumped in? Maybe this is the summer to do it.
